An Act to eliminate asset limits for homeless shelters.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 30 of chapter 23B of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2020 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 48, the words “or personal property”.
SECTION 2. Subsection (B) of said section 30 of said chapter 23B, as so appearing, is hereby amended by inserting after the second paragraph the following paragraph:-
A person shall not be denied assistance under this section based wholly or in part on the amount of the person’s assets; provided, however, that any income generated by such assets may be treated as countable income.
