An Act authorizing the state retirement board to retire Richard D'Auria, a University of Massachusetts police officer disabled by cardiac disease, under the provisions of the "Heart Law.".

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the state retirement board shall retire Richard D'Auria, a University of Massachusetts police officer, as defined in section 1 of chapter 6E, who as a result of occupationally-related disability occurring while in the performance of duty, is totally and permanently incapacitated from performing essential duties as a police officer, shall be retired under the provisions of Section 94 of Chapter 32 of the General Laws.
