By Representative Cabral of New Bedford, a petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 2996) of Antonio F. D. Cabral and others for legislation to revive and continue the special commission (established by Chapter 2 of the Resolves of 2020 and revived and continued by Section 89 of Chapter 102 of the Acts of 2021) to investigate the features of the official Seal and Motto of the Commonwealth and providing for the filing of interim reports by said commission.  State Administration and Regulatory Oversight.

An Act extending the Special Commission Relative to the Seal & Motto of the Commonwealth.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Chapter 2 of the resolves of 2020 is hereby amended by inserting, in line 24, after the word “governor” the following: “provided, however, that the commission may submit an interim report or interim reports detailing the progress of the commission.”

SECTION 2. Section 89 of chapter 102 of the acts of 2021, as amended by section 11 of chapter 22 of the acts of 2022, is hereby further amended by striking out the words “December 31, 2022,” both times they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the following words: November 15, 2023.

SECTION 3. Section 1 and 2 shall take effect on December 31, 2022.
