An Act relative to the consolidation of Inspector General annual reports.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 9 of Chapter 6C of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2020 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking subsection (e) and inserting in place thereof the following subsection:- 

(e) The director shall submit to the inspector general, for inclusion in the annual report required by section 12 of chapter 12A, a report of the unit's activities for the preceding calendar year, including, but not limited to, findings referred to the inspector general for investigation. The inspector general shall submit the annual report to the joint committee on transportation on or before April 30 of each year. The secretary shall make the annual report and all such reports from previous years available on the department's website.

SECTION 2. Section 72 of Chapter 22C of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking subsection (e) and inserting in place thereof the following subsection:- 

(e) The director shall submit to the inspector general, for inclusion in the annual report required by section 12 of chapter 12A, a report of the unit's activities for the preceding calendar year including, but not limited to, findings referred to the inspector general for investigation. The inspector general shall submit the annual report to the joint committee on public safety and homeland security on or before April 30 of each year. The department shall make the annual report and all such reports from previous years available on the department's website.
