An Act to create the American Revolution anniversary public safety and operations fund.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. (a) There is hereby established and set up on the books of the commonwealth a separate fund to be known as the 250th American Revolution Anniversary Public Safety and Operations Fund, in this section called the fund. The comptroller shall transfer to the fund an amount no greater than $1,000,000 from the Federal COVID-19 Response Fund established in section 2JJJJJ of chapter 29 of the Massachusetts General Laws, to provide support for the municipalities of Lexington and Concord for state- and federal-level security protections and operational support pertaining to the extensive commemorative events of the 250th American Revolution Anniversary to occur throughout 2025-2026.

(b) Amounts credited to the fund shall not be subject to further appropriation and money remaining in the fund at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the General Fund and shall be available for expenditure in the subsequent fiscal year. The fund will expire on December 31st, 2026, and all remaining credits shall be remitted to the General Fund.
