An Act relative to a transit fair voucher program.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Chapter 161A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2020 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following new section: -

Section 53: Transit Fare Voucher Fund.

(1) The authority shall establish a Transit Fare Voucher Fund into which it shall deposit revenues from the Commonwealth Transportation Fund. The authority shall draw funds from the Transit Fare Voucher Fund for fare reimbursements for riders using commuter rail servicing beyond fare zone two, as authorized in section 156 of Chapter 161 of the General Laws.

(2) Fare reimbursements pursuant to this section shall not exceed $200 per rider per month.
