An Act relative to license transparency.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Subsection (b) of section 7 of chapter 81 of the Acts of 2022 is hereby amended by inserting after the words “regulations promulgated by the attorney general;”, in the second to last sentence the following words:
said regulations shall, at a minimum, require the registrar of motor vehicles to provide information on the holder of a Massachusetts license (1) to any city or town clerk seeking to verify the identity and eligibility of any individual using a Massachusetts license to vote or to register to vote and (2) in response to a request from any state law enforcement agency pursuant to an investigation.
