An Act relative to amateur radio operator license plates.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Clause (2) of section 33 of chapter 90 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 Official Edition, is hereby amended:

by striking, in lines 11-12, the words “; provided, however, the registrar shall collect a similar fee for the issuance of a number plate bearing the station call letters of an amateur radio operator”; and

by inserting at the end thereof the following:-

Notwithstanding any general or special law, rule, or regulation to the contrary, number plates bearing the station call letters of an amateur radio operator shall be issued without additional charge, and registrations for motor vehicles bearing such plates shall be renewed every two years.
