An Act ensuring access to state IDs for low-income people.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 8 of Chapter 90 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2020 Official Edition, is hereby amended, in line 201, by inserting after the words "age of 70." the following sentence:-

No fees associated with an application for a license shall be charged for a person at or below 300 per cent of the federal poverty guidelines.

SECTION 2. Section 8E of said chapter is hereby amended, in line 78, by inserting after the words "age of 70." the following sentence:-

No fees associated with an application for an identification card shall be charged for a person at or below 300 per cent of the federal poverty guidelines.
