SECTION 1. The Massachusetts Port Authority shall commission a study of the regulation of airlines doing business in the commonwealth. The study shall examine the possible legal implications of imposing certain regulations on airlines, including, but not limited to, requiring airlines to provide lodging, new flights or other compensation to customers in the event of a flight’s cancellation.
SECTION 2. The Massachusetts Port Authority shall file a report, including its findings on the possible legal implications of imposing regulations on airlines doing business in the commonwealth, with the clerks of the house of representatives and the senate and the joint committee on transportation no later than January 1, 2025.
