An Act relative to funding of school construction projects.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding section 10 of chapter 70B of the General Laws, or any other general or special law or regulation to the contrary, the Massachusetts school building authority shall reimburse the city of Lowell $38.5 million its high school renovation project construction costs, to compensate for cost overruns resulting from increased supply chain costs related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
SECTION 2. The grant required by section 1 shall not count towards the total limit on the estimated amount of grants approved by the Massachusetts school building authority pursuant to section 7 of chapter 70B of the General Laws.
