An Act relative to the timely disbursement of appropriated funds.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

The first paragraph of section 9B of chapter 29 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2020 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following 2 sentences:- In any appropriation act that provides for an expenditure of not less than an amount specified by the general court, it shall be presumed that any expenditure less than such amount compromises the achievement of the underlying legislative purposes and goals for such appropriation. Such appropriation amount shall be the entire allotment for such expenditure and the initial allotment for expenditure shall be made no less than 30 days after the enactment of the appropriation act.
