An Act authorizing the town of Sunderland to continue the employment of fire department member Scott Smith.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, Scott Smith, a member of the Sunderland Fire Department, may continue to serve in their position until they reach 70 years of age, or until the date of his retirement or non-reappointment, whichever occurs first; provided, however, that no deductions from the regular compensation of shall be made under chapter 32 of the General Laws subsequent to his reaching the age of 65 in connection with his service to the Town for retirement or pension purposes; provided, however, that the General Court may make clerical and editorial changes of form only to the bill unless the Selectboard approves amendments to the bill prior to enactment by the General Court, and to authorize the Selectboard to approve such amendments which shall be within the scope of the general public objectives of the petition, or take any other action thereto.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
