An Act relative to certain parcels of land in the town of Cohasset.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the town of Cohasset, acting by its select board, may transfer the care, custody and control of a portion of Wheelwright park, which park is located on Forest avenue in the town of Cohasset, identified by the Cohasset assessors as Parcel D3-15-100, and is described in a deed recorded with the Norfolk county registry of deeds in Book 1375, Page 362, and which portion to be transferred contains 2 acres, more or less, and is approximately shown on a plan entitled "Wheelwright Park Plan", on file with the town clerk, from the select board for park purposes to the select board for general municipal purposes and for the purpose of leasing, and, further, to authorize the select board to enter into telecommunications leases from time to time on such terms and conditions and for such duration, which may exceed 30 years, as the select board deems in the best interests of the town, and to grant access, utility and other easements in said portion;

SECTION 2. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, for consideration of the transfer in section 1, the select board of the town of Cohasset may transfer the care, custody and control of a parcel of land owned by the town of Cohasset and containing 2 acres, more or less, on Chief Justice Cushing highway, and known on town of Cohasset assessor's records as Parcel D8-52-006, and as described in a deed recorded with the Norfolk county registry of deeds in Book 36605, Page 504, from the select board for general municipal purposes to the select board, acting as the board of park commissioners, for park purposes in perpetuity under the provisions of section 3 of chapter 45 of the General Laws.

SECTION 3. The transfers provided for in sections 1 and 2 shall become effective upon enactment of this act.
