SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, Peter Shedd, a member of the Bernardston Fire Department, may continue to serve in their position until they reach seventy (70) years of age, the date of their retirement or non-reappointment, whichever occurs first; provided, however, that no deductions shall be made from the regular compensation of Peter Shedd pursuant to chapter 32 of the General Laws subsequent to his reaching the age of sixty-five (65) in connection with his service to the town for retirement or pension purposes, provided, however, that the General Court may make clerical or editorial changes of form only to the bill, unless the Selectboard approves amendments to the bill before enactment by the General Court; and provided further that the Selectboard is hereby authorized to approve amendments which shall be within the scope of the general public objectives of this petition, or take any votes relative thereto.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
