An Act authorizing the town of Acushnet to continue the employment of Call Deputy Fire Chief.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the Call Fire Deputy Chief of the Town of Acushnet, may continue to serve in that position until reaching the date of his voluntary retirement or the date he is relieved of his duties by the Town of Acushnet Board of Selectmen, whichever occurs first; provided, however, that he is mentally and physically capable of performing duties of his office. The Board of Selectmen may, at the Town's own expense, require that said Call Fire Deputy Chief be examined annually by a physician designated by the Town, to determine such physical and mental capability to perform the duties of his office.

Section 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
