An Act increasing the age limit for the appointment of special police officers in the city of Springfield.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Retired police officers who have been appointed as Special Police Officers within the City of Springfield under the authority provided through Chapter 133 of the Acts of 2018, shall not be subject to the same maximum age restrictions as applied to regular police officers in the City of Springfield pursuant to chapter 32 of the General Laws.

SECTION 2. Retired police officers who have been appointed as Special Police Officers within the City of Springfield under the authority provided through Chapter 133 of the Acts of 2018, shall be subject to a maximum age restriction of seventy (70) years old.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
