An Act authorizing the town of Williamsburg to continue employment of Glen Everett beyond the age of 65.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, Glen Everett, a member of the fire department of the town of Williamsburg, who would be subject to mandatory retirement on the last day of the month in which he turns 65 years old, may continue to serve in such a position until 06/25/2029, or until the date of his retirement, or the date he is relieved of his duties by the Town, whichever occurs first; provided however, that no deductions shall be made from the regular compensation of Glen Everett pursuant to Chapter 32 of the General Laws for any service subsequent to him reaching the age of 65 in connection with his service to the Town for retirement purposes; provided further, that he is mentally and physically capable of performing the duties of his office; provided further, that the Town may at its own expense require that Glen Everett be examined by an impartial physician designated by the Town to determine such capability; and provided further, that Glen Everett shall, upon retirement, receive a superannuation retirement allowance equal to that which he would have been entitled had he retired at the age of 65.

(b) Notwithstanding section 1, Glen Everett shall be subject to chapter 6E of the General Laws and section 96B of chapter 41 of the General Laws for the duration of his employment pursuant to this act.

Section 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
