_______________
An Act regarding the continued employment of a certain employee of the town of Oxford.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, Craig Gagner, a uniformed member of the police department of the town of Oxford, may continue in his prior position at the police department retroactively from October 31, 2023 until he reaches 68 years of age or he is relieved of his duties, whichever occurs first; provided, however, that Craig Gagner is mentally and physically capable of performing the duties of the position. The town may require, at its own expense, that Graig Gagner be examined by an impartial physician designated by the town to determine his capacity. No further deductions shall be made from the regular compensation of Craig Gagner pursuant to chapter 32 of the General Laws and upon retirement Craig Gagner shall receive a superannuation retirement allowance equal to that which he would have been entitled had he retired upon reaching the age of 65.
SECTION 2. The General Court may make clerical or editorial changes of form only to the proposed special act, unless the Board of Selectmen approves such changes as are consistent with the public purposes of this request prior to enactment by the General Court.
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect as of October 31, 2023.
