_______________
An Act authorizing the town of Lee to continue the employment of assistant chief Glenn M. Wilcox.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, Glenn M. Wilcox, the assistant chief of the Lee fire department, may continue to serve in such position until Glenn M. Wilcox reaches 70 years of age, retires or is relieved of duties by the town administrator of the town of Lee at their discretion, whichever occurs first; provided, however, Glenn M. Wilcox is mentally and physically capable of performing the duties of such position. The town administrator may, at the town of Lee's own expense, require Glenn M. Wilcox to be examined by a physician designated by the town administrator, to determine such capability. No deductions shall be made from the regular compensation of Glenn M. Wilcox pursuant to chapter 32 of the General Laws subsequent to Glenn M. Wilcox reaching the age of 65 in connection with Glenn M. Wilcox’s service to the town for retirement purposes. Upon retirement, Glenn M. Wilcox shall receive a superannuation retirement allowance equal to that which Glenn M. Wilcox would have been entitled had Glenn M. Wilcox retired upon reaching the age of 65.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
