An Act relative to an emergency preparedness instructional awareness program.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Chapter 69 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2018 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after Section 1Q, the following new Section:-

Section 1R. Emergency Preparedness Instructional Awareness Program

The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, in conjunction with the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency, is hereby required to create a minimum of a 1 hour per school year instructional awareness program to educate students and faculty on emergency preparedness, planning, and management of situations, including but not limited to weather, natural disasters, viruses and human made disasters.
