Resolve for a climate change staffing study.
Resolved, Resolved, notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the Office of Climate Innovation and Resilience, the Department of Environmental Protection, and representatives of the twelve Massachusetts regional planning agencies shall conduct a study to determine the appropriate staffing levels and resources necessary to carry out climate change response planning and strategy at the regional level. This study will have a particular focus on ensuring that resources for these efforts are made available for both rural and urban communities at appropriate levels.
The agencies shall file a report of their findings and recommendations with the clerks of the house of representatives and the senate, the chairs of the house and senate committees on ways and means, and the house and senate chairs of environment, natural resources, and agriculture, not later than March 31, 2024.
