An Act relative to drug recognition experts.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Nothwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary the secretary of the executive office of public safety and security shall develop a statewide standardization and accreditation certification for municipal and state police officers to become drug recognition experts for the purpose of providing testimony in court proceedings. The secretary shall submit by December 31, 2024 any legislative recommendations to the clerks of the house and senate, and the joint committee on public safety and homeland security.
