Chapter 6, Section 116 of the general laws is hereby amended by adding the following new section:-

Section 116K. The municipal police training committee shall, not less than annually, assess the workforce status of policing in the commonwealth, with regard to its adequacy, diversity, and equity, and shall make recommendations for actions necessary for the recruitment and retention of law enforcement officers to meet these goals. The results of said assessment, together with such recommendations,  shall be filed with the executive office of public safety and homeland security, the joint committee on public safety and homeland security, the House and Senate Committees on Ways and Means, and the clerks of the House and Senate, whom shall post them electronically for public inspection, not later than December 31.
