An Act relative to the board of registrars.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Chapter 51, as appearing in the 2020 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking section 18 and inserting in place thereof the following section:-
Section 18. (a) In no case shall an appointment to the registrars of voters be made so as to cause the board to have more than 2 members from any established political party in the commonwealth, including the city or town clerk.
(b) Subsection (a) shall apply to the makeup of the original registrars of voters and in each succeeding appointment and in filling vacancies of the registrar of voters.
