An Act relative to educator license accountability.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 38G of Chapter 71 as appearing in the 2022 official edition is hereby amended by striking in line 21 by striking the words:-“of employment”
SECTION 2. Said Section 38G of Chapter 71 is hereby amended by striking in line 28 by striking the words:-“of employment”
SECTION 3. Said Section 38G of Chapter 71 is hereby amended by inserting at the end thereof the following paragraphs:
Each school district shall submit to the department of elementary and secondary education with any Standard license application within ninety [90] days of application or at the time of renewal supporting documents including but not limited to, professional development plans, professional development points, and a digital signature from the supervisor attesting that reported activities are consistent with the Individual Professional Development Plan and recommending the granting or renewal of a license.
Any educator who has been found to not be properly licensed shall be prohibited from accruing credible service time during the period of non-licensure.
The department of elementary and secondary education shall at its discretion conduct audits of school districts to ensure proper licensure”
