HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, March 19, 2026.

 The committee on Agriculture and Fisheries, to whom were referred the petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 136) of Steven Owens and Kristin E. Kassner for legislation to further regulate the use of sludge from a municipal, commercial or industrial wastewater treatment plant as an agricultural product; and the petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 141) of Marcus S. Vaughn for legislation to prohibit foreign governments from holding any interest in agricultural land, reports (under the provisions of House Rule 27) recommending that the accompanying order (House, No. 5249) ought to be adopted.

House of Representatives, March 19, 2026.

 

 Ordered, That the committee on Agriculture and Fisheries be authorized to sit during a recess of the General Court to make an investigation and study of House documents numbered 136 and 141, relative to toxic sludge and foreign-own land.

 Said committee shall report to the General Court the results of its investigation and study and its recommendations, if any, together with drafts of legislation necessary to carry such recommendations into effect, by filing the same with the Clerk of the House of Representatives on or before December 31, 2026.
