HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, May 11, 2026.

 The committee on Public Service, to whom was referred the petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 4443) of Andres X. Vargas (with the approval of the mayor and city council) that the city of Haverhill be authorized to further regulate the maximum age requirement for original appointment to the positions of firefighter or police officer in said city, reports (under the provisions of House Rule 27) recommending that the accompanying order (House, No. 5398) ought to be adopted.

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts

 Ordered, That the committee on Public Service be authorized to sit during a recess of the General Court to make an investigation and study of House document numbered 4443, relative to the maximum age requirement for original appointment to the position of firefighter or police officer in the city of Haverhill.

 Said committee shall report to the General Court the results of its investigation and study and its recommendations, if any, together with drafts of legislation necessary to carry such recommendations into effect, by filing the same with the Clerk of the House of Representatives on or before December 31, 2026.
