 The committee on Public Service, to whom were referred the joint petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 5468) of Kimberly N. Ferguson (by vote of the town) that the town of Princeton be authorized to continue the employment of police officer Paul Quinn, notwithstanding the maximum age requirement; the petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 5507) of John Barrett, III relative to authorizing the firefighters of the Adams Fire District to continue service past the age of 65; and the petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 5517) of Patricia A. Duffy relative to the retirement benefits for Julia Flannery, the surviving spouse of the Honorable Francis Flannery, reports (under the provisions of House Rule 27) recommending that the accompanying order (House, No. 5672) ought to be adopted.

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts

 Ordered, That the committee on Public Service be authorized to sit during a recess of the General Court to make an investigation and study of House documents numbered 5468, 5507 and 5517, relative to retirement benefits and police and fire employment.

 Said committee shall report to the General Court the results of its investigation and study and its recommendations, if any, together with drafts of legislation necessary to carry such recommendations into effect, by filing the same with the Clerk of the House of Representatives on or before December 31, 2026.
