An Act prohibiting cell phone usage during the school day.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Chapter 71 of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding the following section:-

Section 101. (a) The superintendent of every school district shall implement and maintain a policy prohibiting the use by students of cell phones or other personal electronic devices during the school day, except as authorized by a teacher or administrator or used in the case of an emergency.

(b) Annually, the superintendent shall submit the policy to the board.
