An Act authorizing Bradford G. Merkel to take the state police examination notwithstanding the maximum age requirement.
Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to forthwith a waiver of the state police exam maximum age requirement for Bradford G. Merkel, , therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Notwithstanding section 10 of chapter 22C of the General Laws regarding the maximum age of applicants for initial enlistment as uniformed members of the state police, Bradford G. Merkel shall be eligible to take the next competitive examination for appointment for initial enlistment as a uniformed member of the state police and, provided he meets all other requirements, shall be eligible for appointment.
