An Act authorizing the town of Ware to waive certain maximum age requirements for appointments to the police and fire departments.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding section 58A of chapter 31 of the General Laws or any other
general or special law to the contrary, the town of Ware may appoint a person as a permanent
full-time member of the police department or fire department regardless of any maximum age
limitation otherwise applicable under said section 58A, so long as the person meets all other civil
service law requirements.
SECTION 2. The authority granted under this act may be exercised by vote of the selectboard,
town council, or other appointing authority of the town of Ware, consistent with the form of
government of the town.
