An Act recognizing those employed in the shellfish, aquaculture, marine fisheries, and health care sectors as a preferred vocation under the Seasonal Communities Act in Wellfleet.

 

 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding subsection d of section 32 of chapter 23B of the General Laws, as inserted by Section 5 of chapter 150 of the acts of 2024, or any other general or special law to the contrary, the Town of Wellfleet shall be permitted to expend funds designated for the creation and preservation of year-round affordable and attainable housing for individuals who, by vocation, engage in or support the commercial shellfishing, aquaculture, the marine fisheries industries of healthcare professionals who are or who intend to become domiciled residents of the Town of Wellfleet.

 SECTION 2. All other provisions of said section 32 of chapter 23B of the General Laws, as inserted by Section 5 of chapter 150 of the acts of 2024, and the regulations promulgated pursuant thereto, shall remain in full force and effect in the Town of Wellfleet and shall apply to housing created or preserved pursuant to this act.

 SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon passage.
