An Act authorizing Edward E. Kivari Jr. to purchase creditable service from the Hampden county regional retirement board.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding chapter 32 of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary, the Hampden county regional retirement board shall credit Edward E. Kivari Jr., a member of the Hampden county regional retirement system, with creditable service during the period of 1997 to 2011, inclusive, as a member of the zoning board of appeals in the town of Wilbraham. The board shall determine and credit him with creditable service for the amount of actual time worked during this period in accordance with section 4 of said chapter 32.

         SECTION 2. Eligibility for this creditable service shall be conditioned upon payment by Edward E. Kivari Jr. to the Hampden county regional retirement system of an amount equal to that which would have been withheld as regular deductions from his regular compensation for such previous service plus buyback interest, in 1 lump sum or installments, as the Hampden county regional retirement board shall prescribe.
