An Act relative to consumer protection and civil rights.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary:
The attorney general shall have the jurisdiction to pursue civil action against a company or individual who violates the civil rights of Massachusetts citizen whose rights were violated in another state if the consumer activity involved the use of Massachusetts wages or banks or if a consumer agreement was breached causing the Massachusetts resident to suffer damages.
The statute of limitations for said consumer or civil rights violation shall be tolled while the plaintiff or defendant is outside the state where the violation took place.
