An Act clarifying Group 4 retirement classification eligibility for utility maintenance workers.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Subsection (2) of section 3 of chapter 32, as appearing in the 2022 Official Edition, is hereby amended in the definition of Group 4 in paragraph (g) by striking out the words “employees of a municipal gas or electric generating or distribution plant who are employed as linemen, electric switchboard operators, electric maintenance men, steam engineers, boiler operators, firemen, oilers, mechanical maintenance men, and supervisors of said employees who shall include managers and assistant managers” and inserting in place thereof the following words:-

employees of a municipal gas or electric generating or distribution plant who are employed as linemen or line workers, electric switchboard operators, electric maintenance workers, substation technicians, meter installers, steam engineers, boiler operators, firemen or firefighters, oilers, mechanical maintenance workers and supervisors of said employees who shall include managers and assistant managers.

SECTION 2. Section 1 shall take effect upon enactment.
