An Act concerning sidewalks in the town of Scituate.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of section 26 of chapter 83 of the General Laws, or any other general or special law to the contrary, the select board of the town of Scituate may make an order that provides for the assessment of a reasonable amount, up to and including the full cost, upon the abutting estates, for the construction of a new sidewalk or the reconstruction of a sidewalk with material of more permanent character than that with which it was originally constructed.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage provided that the General Court may reasonably vary the form and substance of the requested legislation with the scope of the general public objectives of this petition; or take any other action relative thereto.
