An Act relative to retirement pension notarizations.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding 840 CMR 15.01 or any other general or special law to the contrary, no public pension system overseen by the public employee retirement administration commission shall require benefit recipients to notarize any forms required for benefit verification.
SECTION 2. Nothing in this act shall prevent the public employee retirement administration, no less frequently than once every two years, from directing each retirement board to require each member or beneficiary who receives a pension, retirement allowance, or survivor's allowance to file with the retirement board an attestation under the penalties of perjury, at such time and in such form as the board shall prescribe.
