 SECTION 1. (a) Notwithstanding chapter 78 of the General Laws or any other general or special law or charter provision of the town of Williamstown to the contrary, the terms of office for the board of library trustees of the town of Williamstown shall be staggered as provided in subsection (b).(b) One of the 4 members of the board of library trustees whose term is expiring and up for election in 2028 shall be selected via a lottery to be reelected for a term of 2 years to expire in 2030; provided, however, that when such member’s term is up for reelection in 2030, such term shall revert to a 3-year term.

 SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
