An Act relative to the security of electronic benefit transfer cards.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Chapter 18 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022 official edition, is herby amended by inserting after section 5L the following section:-

Section 5O. Electronic Benefit Transfer Cards; Photo Identification Requirement.

All electronic benefit transfer cards shall include a clear photo of the authorized user. The Department of Transitional Assistance shall verify identity with a valid U.S. passport, Social Security card, or Massachusetts driver’s license.
