An Act relative to unemployment insurance.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 24 of Chapter 151A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022 Official Edition, is hereby amended in subsection (a) by striking out in lines 3 and 4 the words “Have been paid wages in the base period amounting to at least thirty times the weekly benefit rate” and inserting in place thereof the following:-

"Have been paid wages in at least two-quarters of the base period amounting to at least thirty times the weekly benefit rate".

SECTION 2. Section 6 of Chapter 175M of the General Laws as appearing is hereby amended in subsection (2)(d) by striking "25 employees" and inserting in place thereof the following:-- "50 employees".

SECTION 3. Said Section 6 is hereby further amended by inserting at the end the following:-- "(g) for purposes of this section employers of covered entities shall not be counted towards the total number of required employees for coverage."
