Mass General Laws Chapter 268 as appearing in the 2022 edition is hereby amended by inserting after section 34A the following new section:-
"Section 34B. No person shall knowingly or intentionally approach within twenty-five feet of a law enforcement officer who is lawfully engaged in the execution of his official duties after the law enforcement officer has ordered the person to stop approaching or to retreat. For the purposes of this section, "law enforcement officer" shall include all individuals as defined in MGL chapter 6E section 1. Any person violating this section shall be punished by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars or by imprisonment for not more than one year. Violation of this section is considered and breach of the peace."
