An Act relative to MSBA school funding.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. The school building advisory board established in section 3A of chapter 70B of the General Laws shall commission a study of the funding mechanisms for primary, secondary, technical, vocational and agricultural school facilities. The study shall examine the feasibility of creating a funding formula that shall provide increased funding for technical schools where the establishment and maintenance of such school facilities require additional funds that are not necessary for the establishment and maintenance of primary and secondary school facilities.

SECTION 2. The school building advisory board shall issue a report, including findings and recommendations on a school facility funding formula that considers the increased costs associated with school facility establishment and maintenance for technical, vocational and agricultural schools, with the clerks of the house of representatives and the senate and the joint committee on education no later than January 1, 2027.
