Resolve creating a special commission on additional regular compensation for certain members and annual expenses for members of general court.
Resolved, that there shall be a special commission established to review the amounts for certain members pursuant to section 9B of chapter 3 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022 Official Edition, and the annual expenses for members of general court pursuant to section 9C of said chapter 3, as so appearing. The commission shall report its findings, including any proposed legislation, to the house and senate committees on ways and means and the joint committee on public service no later than December 31, 2026.
The 9 members of the commission shall consist of 1 who shall be appointed by the speaker of the house, 1 who shall be appointed by the minority leader of the house, 1 who shall be appointed by the president of the senate, 1 who shall be appointed by the minority leader of the senate, 1 who shall be a representative of the Center for State Policy Analysis, 1 who shall be a representative of the League of Women Voters of Massachusetts, 1 who shall be a representative of the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation, 1 who shall be a representative of MASSPIRG and 1 who shall be a representative of the Pioneer Institute.
