By Mr. Garballey of Arlington, a petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 708) of Sean Garballey that the Boston Metropolitan Area Planning Council  conduct a study of potential flood storage at the site of the former Metropolitan District Commission’s Skating Rink bordering the towns of Arlington and Belmont.  Environment, Natural Resources and Agriculture.

In the Year Two Thousand Thirteen

An Act relative to flood storage.
 

              Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

              SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding any general special law to the contrary, the Boston Metropolitan Area Planning Council shall conduct a study of potential flood storage at the site of the former Metropolitan District Commission’s Skating Rink located adjacent to the Route 2 Eastbound Lake Street off-ramp bordering the towns of Arlington and Belmont.

Within one-hundred-and-eighty (180) days of the passage of this Act, the Boston Metropolitan Planning Area Council shall submit a report to the Clerks of the House and Senate detailing a plan concerning implementation of such study.

SECTION 2.  A sum of one-hundred-thousand dollars ($100,000) shall be appropriate for the purpose of funding the study required by Section 1.
