              The undersigned legislators and/or citizens respectfully petition for the passage of the accompanying bill:

An Act establishing a sick l eave bank for Laraine Nasif, an employee of the Department of Revenue. .

In the Year Two Thousand and Nine



An Act establishing a sick leave bank for Laraine Nasif, an employee of the Department of Revenue. .


Whereas , The deferred operation for this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is forthwith to make , therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.


              Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follo ws:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special, or rule or regulation to the contrary, the department of revenue shall establish a sick leave bank for Laraine Nasif, an employee of the department of revenue. Any employee of said department may voluntarily contribute 1 or more sick, personal or vacation days to the sick leave bank for the use by Laraine Nasif. Whenever Laraine Nasif terminates employment with said department or request to dissolve the sick leave bank, the balance of the sick leave time shall be transferred to the department of revenue paid sick leave bank. Sick leave bank days shall not be used for absences unrelated to the illness or disability that necessitated the establishment of the sick leave bank as determined by the department.
