An Act Authorizing the Town of Norwood to Acquire the Norwood Post VFW #2452 Building for the Ability to Lease it to Veterans' Organizations.


 

Whereas , The deferred operation for this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is forthwith to make to au thorize the Town of Norwood to acquire the Norwood Post VFW #2452 Building for the ability to lease it to veterans' organizations., therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.

 

              Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of chapter 30B of the General Laws the Norwood Board of Selectmen is hereby authorized to acquire real property together with improvements thereto located at 193 Dean St. in Norwood, Massachusetts, currently owned by the Norwood Post VFW Building Association, Inc., also known as Norwood Post #2452 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

SECTION 2. Notwithstanding the provisions of chapter 30B of the General Laws the Norwood Board of Selectmen is hereby authorized to lease said premises to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2452 and/or to other Veterans’ organizations for a term not to exceed twenty-five (25) years, upon such terms as the Board of Selectmen may consider appropriate.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
