In the Year Two Thousand Eleven

An Act relative to ionizing radiation.
 

              Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

              SECTION 1.    Chapter 112 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after the word “facilities” in section 9E the following:-

              “Physicians may delegate radiological procedures, including procedures using fluoroscopy, to a physician assistant who has completed a radiation safety course as prescribed by 105 CMR- 120.405.”

              SECTION 2.    Chapter 111 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after the word “employed” in Section 5L the following:

              (iii). A Physician Assistant registered under MGL Chapter 111, Section 9C, who has been delegated by a supervising physician the performance of radiological procedures including fluoroscopy and has completed a radiation safety course as prescribed by 105 CMR - 120.405”
