Amendment #237 to H3400

Ensuring every City and Town be funded at 17.5% of their Foundation Budget

[Sponsors] Representative Hill of Ipswich, Representative Ehrlich of Marblehead, Representative Garry of Dracut, Representative Poirier of North Attleboro, Representative O'Connell of Taunton, Representative Hecht of Watertown, Representative Levy of Marlborough, Representative Adams of Andover and Representative Vieira of Falmouth,  move to amend the bill in section 3, by inserting after the third paragraph (as printed) the following:

“Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, for fiscal year 2012 the total amounts to be distributed and paid to each city and town from item 7061-0008 of section 2 shall be at a minimum 17.5 percent of their Foundation Budget; provided further, that said funds distributed shall be represented in a separate column on the cherry sheet produced by the department of revenue.”
