Fernandes User Amendment

[Sponsors] Mr. Fernandes of Milford, Mr. Kane of Holyoke, Mr. Madden of Nantucket and Ms. O'Connell of Taunton move to amend the bill  by inserting at the end thereof, the following new section:

Subsection (b) of section 25 of chapter 118G is hereby amended by inserting the following sentences at the end thereof:  “Notwithstanding any general or special law or regulation or administrative bulletin to the contrary, a public nursing facility shall be granted an exemption from paying any assessments hereunder.  Such exemption shall have priority over all other exemptions that have not been granted as of the enactment date of this section.   For purposes of this exemption, a “public nursing facility” shall be defined as a nursing facility operated by a municipality or a geriatric authority located in Bristol County, City of Taunton;Hampden County, City of Holyoke; Nantucket County, Town of Nantucket; or Worcester County, City of Milford
